Fragile.

Thats me in the singapore flyer : ] It was really an awesome experience and if you want to ride it, its just 10 bucks for students! we could all like go ride it together or smthing. My family and I took this flyer as a farewell ride for my aunty.

You know they always say that you should'nt build a relationship based on lies right, but sometimes I wonder, what happens if the other party cannot except the truth? I mean, no one is perfect in this world, and with no one perfect, people will definitely tend to lie sometimes. Its all just so FRAGILE, the balance between the truth and lies. One party might finally want to share the truth with the other, but when he/she does so, then the relationship starts to break down. What happens then? Whose fault is it?

Of course I'm not saying that the truth is always bad, neither am I saying that the truth is always not excepted. But what happens when its not? A guy/girl will only start sharing secrets, real, deep secrets only when he/she really trusts the other party. But that trust is so fragile sometimes! And when the truth is spitted out, the relationship slowly deterioates, to the point when it breaks down.

To me, everything has a risk to it. When we embark on new relationships even continue old ones, we must except that something will catch us by surprise. Its human nature to lie and to hate, but we are no ordinary humans, we have a God, Jesus Christ! Stop being ordinary humans, and start forgiving!

And try something new, when you forgive someone, make sure you say smthing like, " hey, its all right, i FORGIVE you." Emphasise that word. You'll be amazed how much better that guy/girl will feel.

Well, hope I've typed something that meaningful.

John 4:9-11
"This is how God showed his love amoung us: He sent his one and only Son into the world that we might live through him. This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins. Dear friends, since God so loves us, we also ought to love one another. "

Amen :D

Heys,

First I really apologize for the lack of posts recently. But it was the exam period, so hope you guys understand.

But over the past days of not posting, I have encountered a few awkward situations and experiences. Some were pleasant, others not so. I also noticed that the past is the past, that things said and done cannot be changed. That telling a simple lie is sometimes better than revealing a painful truth.

The two years I have spent in secondary school can be said to be not very happy years. Having trouble to adapt to my new surrounding at first, I struggled as I tried hard to search for a firm footing with new friends and teachers. Jesus pulled me through the year, but I cannot deny the fact that I barely made it in secondary one.

However, in secondary two, things started to change. I started to find my identity, not in my school, nor in my friends, but in Christ. And things that I lost since primary school, things that hurt much when thought about, started to lose their sting on me. I started to feel, if one could say, "alive" again. I enjoy my cca now, have great friends too.

But, fate changed its course once again and a serious of events tested my foundations again. First it was the IP application. Just when I was starting to enjoy life in Victoria, the idea of this programme caught me.

I was at a lost, thinking if I should apply or not, thinking if it was ok to risk it all again, for if I did enter this programme, new friends and teachers would follow. Would I be able to adapt again? I have found that adapting was tough for me.

Then it was the conversations with a "long lost" friend again. I was not only reminded of the painful past I had with her, but also I was reminded that if I had not said those stupid words, things might turn out different.

But whatever happened, I found that I have also become stronger. I have learnt that none can be trusted, that at the end of day, when I'm hurt and lost and on my bed, the only one I can talk to is God, is Jesus. That he is the only one that can heal this hurt I am still feeling. I really did'nt expect it to last this long. Though its starting to numb away now, I still can feel it there,
like a sharp needle, though very light, but very sharp, poking against my heart.

Watching Terminator tmr, will have a great time with friends. Hopefully that would numb the pain even more.

Why can't I just forget?

Andrew.

They say its normal to feel this way.

Went out to celebrate Jin's bday.
Had a great time, but as usual these two big bullies just had to tease me and make fun of me -.- Haha, oh wells, i guess they like it, so why stop them? We had pizza hut for dinner and then had swensens. Yummy! :D the ice cream was so sinful man! we had TWO hot fudge sundaes, cause we actually thought they were small in portion. Well, we were terribly wrong and were so full after that!
Geez, i really miss you man. We talked so much about you guys and everytime they mentioned you, goosebumps just run through me.
I hope things would return back to where it was, and that these friendships would last.

Wake up call.

Hello,
Pardon me for the lack of posts recently. Have been really busy at school, with work and all. I'm studying really hard for my Chinese and also training hard for the nationals coming soon.

Well, I had training today and it was really disappointing for me. I thought i had already gotten the '3 step' motion while doing hurdles but today it seemed that my feet could not move at all! I was really disappointed with myself. I knew I could do much better than this, but somehow there was like this barrier between me and my goal.

Then that night, my dad said smthing powerful to me, that is the verse Matthew 7:7:
Ask, Seek, Knock
7"Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you.
At that moment, I realized the simplicity of my situation. That was that I have not been asking God to help me, and have been using my own efforts to help raise my standard. But not now anymore! Only God and God alone can help me break this barrier between me and the hurdles.
:D

I still have work to do, so yea. Tmr when i attend training, I knw that regardless of what, I have asked God to help me with my situation and though it may not happen tmr, i know that, as quoted from my best friend's fav verse,
Phil 4:6 - 7 Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. 7And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

All rightty then, got to go now, gonna come up with more posts on my victory over my situation through God, Jesus Christ, my abba and best friend ;D

rainbows

hey,

Whats so significant about rainbows? well, its only significant if you have a revelation about them!

Today, i did have a revelation.

As you all would know about the famous Noah and the ark story, you would know about the rainbow God gave to Noah as a sign that no more will he cause destruction and sadness to the earth and to human kind.

Well, while i was playing soccer with my friends today, i saw a rainbow! My friends were like : ok, its just a rainbow man, why andrew acting like that? 0.0

But i knew it wasn't just a rainbow! it was God's sign or covenant with me that no longer will there be sadness, no longer will there be unhappiness in my life. This sadness i experienced today was, with marks. My chinese marks.

I had just finished my chinese CA1 paper, with butterflies in my stomach, i handed in the paper.
Today i got back my scripts and the marks i got was simply amazing.

18.5/80

Yep. i did'nt type that wrongly. thats the marks i got! for my chinese paper! i was so taken aback, it was like, my mind was trying to escape reality by saying to itself, its upon 20, not 80. But nothing could be further away from the truth and when reality hit me, it hit hard. I had to control my tears, because chinese was a subject i had a hard time trying to cope with.

And then there was the rainbow. the rainbow i saw today really touched my heart. It was like i could hear God saying, no more will you be so sad, from now on, i will get you, i will be your best tutor, and i will lead you to overcome this subject with ease. Just trust in me, i will pull you through. Our work, is to enter God's rest, to have faith in him, as said from my friend Dalson, just do your best, God will do the rest. And the best we can do is to have faith in Him! ;D

Hebrews 4:10–11
10… he who has entered His rest has himself also ceased from his works as God did from His. 11Let us therefore be diligent to enter that rest...

God be with us. Amen! :D

With loads of love,
Andrew

I just learned this song on the guitar

My best friends birthday, and I decided to make this video/ slideshow for him.

Thursday, February 19, 2009

we already have it.

Hello all,
This is my first post since dun know how long alr, hope you all forgive me! :d
Well, I felt something strange, or have been feeling something strange since I entered secondary school. I started to feel jealous. Jealous of people, things that were happening to them, good things, and not happening to me. I think part of the reason for this feeling is that I'm not happy lah. With secondary school and all.

However, I also had a revelation. While reading the daily bread, I came across the verse :
Romans 8:32

It speaks about that God gave us his own son freely to us, so how much more will he give us everything else we want? Upon reading this, i realized that ,hey andrew lim! you have jesus christ! my everything, my all. Whatever i want, i just need to ask and it shall be given! Why waste time whining and being jealous and all, when i have God, when i have jesus.

So yea, that really touched my heart, and i instantly sensed a warm feeling touching my heart.

Oh yea, and that day, this revelation manifested in my life. The very same day. Amazing is'nt it?

Ask and it shall be given. I asked God for a few things, and by his grace, i have faith that he will answer my prayers.
Congrats to the Volleyball team! :D

In God we trust!

hello all,

Romans 8:31 is the verse I just discovered. Though I think this is a common verse, I still feel that hey, no matter how common any verse is, it still would not fail to speak to someone.

As I am going through a decision making part of my life, about my cca, I have been really confused about what to choose, all the lies and sweet talking from the cca teachers, to join this or join that, I really could not take it. It was as if every door was open, but each door there was black and I could not see what was behind it. I was afraid.

And then I saw this verse. This verse:" What then, shall we say in response to this? If God is for us, who can be against us?" Powerful is'nt it? It is at least for me. Now when I look at each door, I know that no matter what door I go through, God will shine and be a light onto my feet, and the moment I enter, everything would be clear!

Exams are coming soon (omg, so fast!) and I probably buck up my studies. But all in all, I really do hope to get what i want for my cca, as God will provide not only just nice for us, but exceedingly and abundantly above all we ask or think!

In God I trust, Chestnut

what can mend a brokenheart?

hello,

Smile andrew. smile.

Its been a year now since I left primary school and I must say I miss my friends and all. However, times do change and now it seems my friends are starting to disappear, starting to move on. It's not like I have not moved on, its just, 4 years of friendship and you want to call it quits now?

But what the heck. At least i got supurb friends now! Zakir, Jeremy Chan, Darren and all of the jokers, well, they never fail to spice up my life. I hate having a broken heart. As the saying goes: you won't know the blues till you feel the blues, a broken heart is hell. You spend hours just thinking of it, of what you did wrong, what you should have done, and in the end, nothing. ABSOULUTLY NOTHING happens. You cry, try to get over it, shout in the pillow, it all won't work.

But something does work. And that is God. God never fails to work. In any situation, I have learnt that go straight to God, then to friends and all. Don't listen to advice like, oh, you will find another want, or like, ai yo, just a girl ma, got so many else to take. Listen to God-given advice. Listen to advice like: If you need love, go to God. He will never reject you. He is always there.

I don't want to get religious and all but all in all, I would like to say that
Me, ANDREW LIM ZHI QIANG, HAS GOTTEN OVER IT!

:D

A powerful CNY message

Hey

Today is sunday an I just had an awesome service. Today's sermon was about being unshakable in these so shaky times. According to the bible(will confirm the verses soon), God has a reason for these shaking. Its to sort of sieve those things that are shakable and those that are not. Well, what are things that are shakable? These things are man-made systems, such as stocks! Though I am not a politician, stocks to me is like a short cut of earning money. You use money you do not even have. Well, what is God's system then? God's system is the system of sowing and reaping. Its simple. So what you have, and leave the rest to God. He will bless you. Not because of luck, not because of your smartness, but because of God! And don't ever think that you are not perfect enough to come to God. We are all forgiven of our sins, past, present and future, because of Jesus's work at the cross. So stand firm in Jesus in these trying times and he will pull you through!

Well, I watched a korean drama today. I have to say, korean dramas are really really drama. :] guess thats why all the aunties like it. haha. So anyway, I got a revalation while watching the drama! Believe it or not, my revalation was this: That God was the one who created love. God knew long ago that love was needed between humans. So I thought to myself, God must be love in order to create love! And if God can create love, that means he has an everlasting supply of love! wow. That comforted me a lot. I know its not that big of a revalation, but it still is one for me! So remember always, That God is our source of love. Not korean dramas, not movies, not LAN gaming. God is our LOVE! :] (thats my new smiley sign btw)

What a day!

helloo,

Nop, that is not me in the photo.

They are my fellow chestnut friends, and we had a wonderful time together today! Training started like soooo late :O and by the time it ended, it was already like 7.30? like wth lah.

But anyway, we decided to go for dinner, and eat ice jelly cocktail, which we were suppose to eat weeks ago. I was really bored on the bus and decided to take some photos. Iggy found that pink watch and is so proud of it. Haziq took years to adjust his hair for the photo. I was just waiting for the right moment to snap! :D

Finally reached Tampines interchange after an half an hour's ride on the bus. We had KFC for dinner, and sadly and ironically, we DID NOT have ice jelly in the end. lolol. Oh, and never have chilli and cheese fries at the same time. It sucks. It concorts some sort of chemical mixture that makes your stomach want to burst and spill it all out. EEK.

Iggy needed a ride home, and that came in form of my bike! I had to adjust my balance and all, and thank God, we succeded! YEAH MAN! It was quite something for me, cause I have never tom bang a person on my bike before.

So yea, what a day it was! Training was very fun too, we did long jumps, and i felt like super man once again. Hope that there would be many more of these sort of days to come, as God said, "...bad day,...good dayS" :D
Praise God.

A big leap.

Hello,

This week I finally did what I should have done a year ago. I finally attended my church's youth service!

Well, the main reason why I did not want to go to the youth service was because of the amount of people there. I come from a church with thousands of people, and I was quite shy then. But praise be to God, he gave me the courage to finally go to the service and boy did i enjoy it!

The service had some pre-service activities, and it was called : that japanese game show!

As you can see in the picture, the decorations were great and elaborate. People were dressed up as ninjas and sumos and so on. My friend told me to dress like a ninja, but I think it was a failure. :D We all looked as if we were going to a funeral!

The service itself was great, we sang great songs from the band hillsong united, and to top it off, our pastor preached a really powerful sermon. The sermon was about faith momentum, and that in our studies and all, we need to keep focusing our main thoughts and time on God, and so this will steadily create a faith momentum. Gradually, the momentum will become so great, we will be unshakable! :D

But also remember that all in all, it is not our faith, but its God's grace towards us that pleases him. Just accept and believe in him, that is the best thing to please God.

I really thank God for giving me such friends in this youth service, for if I did not have them, I would have never had gone to the service!

A discovery.

 Hello,

I was just looking through my photos when i suddenly saw a few pictures of my trip to Sydney with my dad!

I remembered what an awesome time we had there, so I might even divert from Israel now to Sydney! Austraila is another awesome country, with amazing harbours and sights. The picture in the post is when my dad and I were just lazing around the opera house. (Going on a holiday with my dad is uber cool, and uber slack)  :D

So yea, you just might see more pictures of my Sydney trip!

Hello,

Today was a great day! Even though lessons were boring, we have a full day off on the 29 of Jan! :D

Darren was really tired today :O but I still continued to talk and talk to him. How inconsiderate of me right. Lesson so boring what, its not my fault!

So anyway, time progressed and soon the day was over. For us, the fun just began! We went bowling and Maitri and Zach got a lot of good bowls. They totally thrashed the rest of us. How nice of them. How nice.

I played soccer after bowling and sadly, there were mutts playing with us. We were ok at first, then the mutts started pushing us real hard. I got a cut on my hand because of a push that saw me flying towards the fence. And the fence was sharp :(

I'm not being racists or what, but why can't others like play properly and cleanly? Must they push? And they wearing school uniform some more. No respect for their school what so ever.

But oh well, we had a nice match.

Israel

 Hello,

This is Petra. Its one of the seven wonders of the world. We had to hiked for 45 minutes to reach the main site. I SURVIVED!

See that amazing building in the background of the photo? well, thats only the entrance of Petra. There are many more sites and places of attractions to see inside, but sadly, a sandstorm was coming and we had to leave :(

Petra in greek means rock, its the root word of 'peter', the name. And the building that you see, was build by humans! They carved every drawing and every statue out of the limestone in Petra. Limestones are soft stones, making it easy to carve out of it.

Loookk at mmyyy haiirr. Ittss beeiingg bblloown awway!!

Israel

Hey,

I shall publish some posts writing about my trip to Israel! I am feeding birds in the photo, and the birds all really liked me, cause they all came to me even though everyone brought bread too :D
The birds were really greedy.
I brought at least 3 loaves of bread. ALL GONE.
So yea, I understand now why God says he can take care of the birds of the air. Cause of people like us. He uses us to feed them!

Continue feeding the birds,
